AEC services span across a portfolio of major projects in utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage (BESS), high voltage connections, substations and distribution networks.Our goal is to generate sustainable returns by delivering projects for our clients safely, efficiently, and reliably, while providing rewarding and meaningful careers for our people.Headquartered in Brisbane, we are a dynamic and rapidly growing business with projects spread across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).Manager New Business Power InfrastructureTo support our strategic business development and growth activities, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated power industry and client relationship professional to join AEC.Working closely with the MD, CEO, senior leadership team and pre-contracts personnel, the Manager New Business will focus on driving revenue growth and client relationships in AECs power infrastructure business unit and adjacent markets.Power Infrastructure is an emerging business unit within the AEC Group, providing project development, delivery, construction and maintenance services in high voltage connections, substations, distribution and transmission markets.The role will pursue new business opportunities, build trusted relationships with clients, delivery partners and industry stakeholders, develop and implement strategies to increase AECs project pipeline, conversion of opportunities (sales) and profitability of the company.The role requires exceptional industry knowledge of the energy markets in ANZ, industry players, and key aspects of major project development, energy contracting, client needs, negotiation and conversion of major contracts.This is a HQ based role with regular travel in line with strategic and operational requirements.Key Accountabilities will include:Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities in energy contracting and adjacent markets, through researching markets, promoting AECs strong services offering, and developing effective win strategies and proposalsCultivate, manage and maintain enduring relationships with new and existing customers, across the portfolio of regulated, non-regulated and private clientsDevelop strategies to ensure AECs vision and growth objectives are translated into actionable plans and initiativesCreate and implement market and project pursuit plans to increase project pipeline and contract orderbook, expanding AECs market presenceApply business and commercial acumen to support the pre-contracts and estimating function, including being instrumental in defining and presenting AECs value proposition, competitive positioning, negotiating contract terms and closing dealsPerform market analysis, gather industry intelligence, and analyse competitor activities, trends and customer needs to inform business decision makingLead and influence across organisation teams, driving cohesion and alignment of priorities, ensuring client needs are adequately addressed in submissions and execution strategiesDeliver business development and CRM related strategic initiatives as agreed with the MD and CEOKey skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include:Deep understanding of energy infrastructure sector in ANZ, well established industry network and reputation for high integrity and results in the construction services sectorAbility to lead and motivate teams, communicate effectively and influence decision-making, with exceptional presentation skillsStrong knowledge of power industry delivery standards and compliance requirementsGrowth mindset with proven ability to identify, nurture and convert new business opportunities into successful business outcomesTertiary qualifications or relevant technical skills relating to construction and energy infrastructure developmentLocation: Ashgrove QLD with travel to site and client locations as requiredWe are an equal-opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is valued.We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences We seek to build a diverse team that reflects the communities we serve and seek innovation through varied perspectives.
