Our Asset Team looks after over 2.1 billion dollars in assets including buildings, public open spaces, aquatics centres, roads, drainage, bridges, and major structures. We ensure we provide the community infrastructure at an agreed level of service and in a financially sustainable way.About The RoleAs the Senior Asset Engineer - Buildings & Open Space, you will be responsible for Council''s Community and Recreation Assets, including developing and managing Service Asset Management plans for Council''s Buildings, Recreational and Public Open Spaces, Cemeteries, and Aquatics Centres.You will lead the day-to-day work and functioning of the Community and Recreation Asset Management team whilst also overseeing the Community & Recreation asset management strategy and planning services, in accordance with Council''s Delivery Program. You will estimate asset replacement costs, review work practices, procedures and programs, and provide overall strategic direction to achieve greater efficiency and cost effectiveness.A collaborative approach to managing and maintaining Council''s assets is essential, working closely with various departments and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.BenefitsThis is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $111,958 - $124,273 per year + 3.5% civil liability allowance + 12% p.a superannuation + private leaseback vehicle.Council also offers a range of other benefits for its employees including:Flexible Work arrangementsLong Service Leave after five yearsPaid Parental LeaveAccess to our Healthy Employee Program (HEP): including reduced gym memberships and subsidies for programs that improve health and wellbeing3 weeks personal leaveAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will need tertiary qualifications in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or contemporary experience in building or recreational asset management.The successful candidate will be proficient in planning and scheduling systems and will possess experience in asset data management, maintenance of asset registers, and have experience developing asset management strategies and lifecycle planning.The ability to supervise, coach, and support staff members is essential along with strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, effective communication, and conflict resolution.Questions?If after reading the role charter you have any questions, contact Geoff Wilton, Operations Manager Asset Management on 0447 808 872.Maitland City Council is dedicated to providing a workplace that is inclusive and supportive and is reflective of the diverse community we serve.
