The RoleWe have an exciting and fast-paced opportunity to join the Infinite Aged Care team as a Chef Manager at our Chamberlain Gardens facility. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager and being a member of the site leadership team, this full-time, permanent role is Monday to Friday and is fully accountable for the day-to-day operations in the kitchen, leading a small team that operates the site caf and service functions.A key success factor for this critical people leadership role is to build and maintain high-trust, respectful, and professional relationships with colleagues and support teams, underpinning operational excellence and aligning with our core values at Infinite Aged Care.As the Chef Manager, you will deeply connect with our residents, actively seeking feedback to improve our food and nutritional operations, and effectively communicate your vision, creativity, and wellness attitude toward food. Your team is passionate about providing high-quality food and beverage service across the dining hall, in-house caf, in-room dining, refreshments, and events. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our residents'' lives through your passion for food.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the daily delivery of 5-star quality meals on time (including room service and caf), following set menus aligned with residents'' food preferences and nutritional plans.Lead and coach kitchen teams on workplace safety routines and safety checklists.Participate in Infinite''s Chef Community and share culinary creations, including catering events.Manage budgets, procurement, stocktakes, and equipment maintenance processes.Attend daily management meetings with other department heads to implement strategic and operational outcomes in a collaborative, high-trust leadership style.Be receptive to customer feedback, respectful, and an active listener, as our residents value their food experience.Ensure all operational plans and routines comply with food hygiene audits and regulatory standards, promoting safety and proactive attitudes.Work closely with the Regional Chef support network to learn, improve, and deliver best-in-class food outcomes, and develop new food-related services.Partner with community education providers and VET programs to facilitate regular intakes of commercial cookery students into the kitchen.This role involves physical tasks such as bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items, which must be performed safely to prevent injury to yourself, colleagues, and residents.Who are you?Minimum of 5 years'' experience working in commercial kitchens.Proven leadership experience in managing kitchen teams.A natural people person who fosters a safe, fun, and learning-oriented culture, mentoring staff to develop culinary skills.Exceptional communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.Open to feedback and committed to continuous personal development.A positive, approachable leader who collaborates effectively with operational teams such as lifestyle and activities.Willing to attend safety training and upskilling sessions paid for by the company.Qualifications: Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, with a valid Food Safety Supervisor certificate.Ability to adapt monthly menus to showcase creativity and meet customer preferences.Experience in aged care or the health sector is advantageous.Benefits - Why work for us?Discounted wellbeing activities via Infinite''s FitnessPassport program.Free access to in-house and online training programs.Family-friendly benefits including EAP and employee discounts.Free professional development programs.Opportunities for career growth within a supportive mentoring culture.Participation in roadshows for upskilling and learning from colleagues.Supportive team environment with a strong work ethic.Workplace safety focus for residents, families, and staff.Engaging team activities and shift events.Discounted health insurance with Australian Unity.Who are we?Infinite Aged Care is a leading provider with 17 facilities across Australia, passionate about delivering high-quality aged care services and creating memorable experiences for residents.
