The project is a partnership involving key stakeholders in education, industry, and gender equity, aiming to implement evidence-informed strategies, integrated assessment approaches, and systems-level change.Role Purpose:The Project Officer Research and Strategy (Gender Equity) will support the design, implementation, and reporting of an integrated gender equity strategy for Group Training Organisations as part of the RISE project funded by the Building Womens Careers program of the Australian Government. The role will work closely with project partners to deliver high-quality research, data collection, and gender analysis that informs action planning, policy development, and capacity building.Key Responsibilities:Survey Design and Data CollectionDevelop, pilot, and administer inclusive survey tools.Support qualitative data collection through interviews and focus groups.Ensure rigorous, high-quality, gender-disaggregated, and intersectional data collection methods are applied.Research and AnalysisUndertake literature reviews and policy scans on gender equity in training and employment.Conduct both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.Benchmark findings against sector standards and best practices.Synthesize findings into accessible reports and briefings.Integrated Gender Assessment and Action PlanningSupport the application of gender impact assessments within the sector.Apply intersectional analysis to research and strategy development.Assist in translating research findings into practical recommendations and actions.Strategy Development and ImplementationAssist in drafting components of the gender equity strategy in conjunction with the Project Coordinator.Support the development of measurable indicators and outcomes.Help coordinate consultations and workshops, monitoring and documenting methodology.Collaboration and ReportingLiaise with partners and stakeholders across education, government, and industry.Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and briefing materials.Present findings to internal and external stakeholders as required.Contribute to knowledge sharing and reflection processes, including Communities of Practice.Key Selection Criteria:EssentialDemonstrated experience in research, survey design, and data collection (quantitative and qualitative).Proficiency in statistical analysis of quantitative data and knowledge of ethical protocols and quality practices in qualitative evidence analysisKnowledge of gender equity issues, particularly in vocational education, training, and employment settings.Familiarity with gender analysis, gender impact assessments, and intersectional practice frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and present findings.Capacity to work collaboratively and respectfully with a range of diverse stakeholders.Commitment to gender equality, intersectionality, and evidence-based practice.DesirableExperience working in or with vocational education providers, apprenticeships, or employment services.Background in social research, education, public policy, or equity-focused program delivery.Understanding of workplace safety and gender-based violence prevention frameworks.Employment Conditions:The role is fixed-term and 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), with flexible work arrangements supported.The role is classified under SCHADS (Social and Community Services Stream) Award Level 5.1.Some interstate or regional travel may be required to engage with project partners or stakeholders.Applications:To apply, please submit a CV and cover letter responding to the key selection criteria via the Apply Now link below.We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women from migrant and refugee backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ people, people with disability, and others with lived experience of systemic disadvantage.
