Implementing and developing Costco''s suite of risk management and Work Health & Safety (WHS) tools and procedures, and promote an organisational culture where WHS matters are embedded in operating procedures throughout our business. Demonstrate understanding of the various legislative and regulatory requirements in areas of WHS and workplace compliance relevant to a retail/wholesale business. You are business oriented and understands the importance of engaging/consulting with the various stakeholders and to become a valuable business partner. Travel is a requirement of the position.Job Duties/Essential FunctionsResearching and providing technical advice to the business (including keeping up to date on best practice and legal requirements) which will include legislation in Australia and New ZealandIdentifying areas for improvement or focus - prioritising, developing programs, providing training and assisting the operation teams to implement themCompleting goals/projects according to pre-determined deadlinesCreating/developing materials, conducting training or initiatives for safety program topics such as incident analysis/prevention, safety policies/procedures, regulatory compliance, safety training as required by lawCreating and conducting training (eg. WHS, Risk Management)Teaching/communicating safety information to managers to be integrated into their daily operationsReviewing and updating the risk management manual as requiredCreating reports to be used when reviewing workers'' compensation and incidents with locations and senior managementIdentifying exposures and training opportunitiesConducting Due Diligence reporting and training for Officers (including US)Creating and interpreting adhoc reportsWriting professional correspondence to regulatory agencies and senior managementWorking with locations and senior management on regulatory citations and/or complaint letters as requiredProviding locations and senior management compliance information for federal, state, local health/environmental regulations regarding equipment, facilities, and unsafe behavioursConducting serious incident investigations and provide assistance to operations for regulatory visits / inspectionsSafety Month - developing and implementing the program annuallyConducting audits and providing reports to locations on a periodic basisDeveloping and implementing environmental safety and proceduresKnowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory compliance for WHS, risk management, disposal of chemical and handling of dangerous goods, risk assessments and other relevant areas for complianceRecord keeping - up to date and ensure documentation is filed correctly.Job RequirementsCompleted Graduate study in risk and safety or related fieldMinimum 3 years experience in a similar role in a retail or FMCG environmentStrong familiarity with Australia & New Zealand rules and regulationsIntermediate knowledge of Google Suit (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and exposure to Safety Management SystemsStrong communication, interpersonal, organisation and problem solving skillsExcellent evaluation and analytical skillsAbility to train, develop and mentor employeesAbility to keep abreast of changes in regulations and technologySatisfactory Criminal Record CheckAbility to travel regularly interstate and to New ZealandAustralian Driver License and personal vehicleHigh Risk Licenses (Forklift) desirableJob Ref: AU2068H.000544Location: Sydney - WestSubmitted: 04-07-2025Job SearchBy Keyword or Job RefBy LocationBy CategoryBy CategorySelect multiple fields by holding CTRL key while clicking. #J-18808-Ljbffr
