Ventia have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Supervisor (Civil And Fibre) to work closely alongside the Telecoms team assigned to install the radio telescopes on the internationally acclaimed Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Project.This Hands On role will work closely with the Health, Safety and Quality teams driving safety, quality and project deliverables.This role will initially be based in Perth and will mobilise to the project last quarter of 2023. The successful candidate will be working a 14 day on / 7 day off roster, fly in fly out, with meals and accommodation. This project is situated in Western Australia, 800km north of Perth and will report to the project Construction Manager.About the role:Conduct daily pre-starts, construction walk-outs, planning, scoping, and activities to ensure that site works can be constructed efficiently in accordance with the construction plans and delivery scheduleInfluence work crews in a challenging construction environment by engaging, motivating, and mentoringLead and manage internal and external crews advising their scope of works ensuring all issues are dealt with promptlyLiaise with designers and logistics teams to ensure materials and equipment are readily available ahead of construction activities and highlight critical stock deficiencies in a timely mannerEnsure appropriate documentation included in the work pack for each job and that all Quality documentation / ITR''s are completed to a high standard and required timeframe.Ensure that all works performed on site are carried out in accordance with the relevant Ventia, Client standards and statutory requirementsLiaise with works crews ensuring adequate resources are available, assist Scheduler with 2 & 4 week look aheadAssist with reviews / lessons learnt of completed worksAbout YouTo be successful in your application, you will have experience working within a Supervisory position managing teams in the Civil Construction/Telecommunication area.You will also possess the following competencies:Previous experience Supervising staff and contractorsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, well organised, focused, and productive with the ability to complete tasks on timePrevious experience working with Directional Drill, Rip & Plough and Open Trenching techniques.Experience working in remote areasHighly customer-service focused and team-oriented.Proficient at building strong and beneficial internal relationships.Valid Drivers Licence (HR/MC advantageous)Current First Aid QualificationAbout usVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
