Following a successful debut in Brisbane in May 2025, GRX is set to return in Perth from 47 May 2026, bringing together leaders from METS, mining, and broader industry sectors to drive innovation, sustainability, and the future of resources.The RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and visionary Conference Director to lead the delivery of GRX. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping and executing a world-class event that sets the future direction of the resources industry.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a master plan for the event, including long-term growth strategies and alignment with Austmine and AusIMMs strategic objectives.Lead the creation of compelling program content and secure high-impact speakers, panellists, and moderators through industry engagement and research.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government partners, to build relationships, secure funding, and align outcomes with policy goals.Provide regular updates to the Steering Committee on strategic progress, program milestones, financial performance, and KPIs.Manage the event budget, oversee financial reporting, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery of all logistics through the PCO and Operations Committee.Direct the PCO to ensure delivery of all elements within their scope of work, on time and on budget.Supervise onsite delivery to ensure an exceptional delegate experience, including coordination of side events and workshops.You Will Have The FollowingMinimum 10 years experience managing national and international conferences, with proven ability to develop and implement strategic event plans.Experience working within professional associations or conferencing environments, with a strong understanding of integrated programs and government funding mechanisms.Demonstrated success in strategic program development, engaging national audiences, and managing diverse stakeholder relationships.Skilled in leading teams, assigning workloads, and driving project outcomes efficiently in dynamic environments.Strong budget management capabilities and technical proficiency in event operations and systems.Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with a solution-focused mindset and ability to adapt quickly to change.DesirableStrong understanding of the mining and METS sectors.Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or related discipline, and/or appropriate industry experience.Apply NowIf youre ready to lead one of the most exciting initiatives in the resources sector, wed love to hear from you.To be considered for this role, you must have the right to work in Australia without restrictions.
