You will manage the advocacy, stakeholder relations, communications, and media engagement on behalf of EY Oceania supporting the Head of Corporate Affairs to shape and deliver positive media coverage, with a consistent narrative.When informing strategy proactively, or responding to issues reactively, you will need to build and maintain engagement with relevant stakeholders across media, as well as professional and industry associations. You will work closely with EY Oceanias economics team to build and support its media engagements.You will be responsible for driving our strategic approach to issues or matters with the potential to impact the firms reputation, or the profession more broadly. This will involve connecting with relevant stakeholders and leveraging skillsets whilst managing interdependencies across several functions such as Public Policy, General Counsel, Risk and Quality, Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC), Government Relations, the Executive Leadership Team and various Area and Global EY functions.Your key responsibilitiesWork with the Head of Corporate Affairs to develop and action the media relations strategy which support the firms business objectives and protects and enhances its reputation.Build positive and trusted media relationships through timely, personalised and considered engagement.Manage reactive and proactive media relations, while engaging with EY subject matters experts to inform media campaigns and responses.Work closely with EY Oceanias economics teams to develop, manage, and continually review and improve its internal and external stakeholder engagement.Work closely with Strategic Communications colleagues to identify and action media engagement opportunities that support business service line strategies and thought leadership.Skills and attributes for successProven experience in corporate affairs, media relations, crisis communications, stakeholder relations and advocacy in a corporate or professional services environment.Exceptional research skills and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex issues to diverse audiences.Ability to successfully navigate complex and competing priorities, and cope with ambiguity and change.Strong influencing skills; with proven ability to build understanding and consensus at the most senior levels within an organisation.The ability to analyse, evaluate and improve media engagement output and brand equity.Prior experience in delivering exceptions results in a multinational organisation or large corporate.What we offer youAt EY, well fuel you and your extraordinary talents in a diverse and inclusive culture of globally connected teams.
