Immediate StartMelbourne CBD location/Hybrid ArrangementAbout the roleGovernment department requires an experienced Senior Project Manager to join them on an assignment for a duration of up to a period of 12-month based in Melbourne CBD. As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead and manage a large work program to deliver an end-to-end procurement strategy and sourcing project for Whole of Government (WoG) office management service delivery. This will include managing a small team responsible for strategic project planning and execution, project management, change management, transition management, stakeholder engagement and risk management activities.Key dutiesWorking in collaboration with the Project Director, your key accountabilities will include:leading a major WoG office management procurement program, ensuring strategic procurement and project objectives are met with a strong focus on contract transition and change management.applying robust project management methodologies to deliver on budget, schedule, and scope, while maintaining high-quality documentation, reporting, and project controls.managing end-to-end project and procurement risk in line with the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework, addressing commercial, contractual, financial, operational, ethical and reputational risks.overseeing governance structures, providing secretariat support to steering committees, and chairing working groups, ensuring alignment with Victorian Government Procurement Board (VGPB) and Procurement policy frameworks.leading a small project support team and coordinating informal working groups and external consultants to deliver successful procurement outcomes and support change implementation.Key Selection CriteriaThe skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in managing complex commercial procurement projects, including tender activities, document development, contract review, transition, project communications, change management and risk management practices, preferably in Victorian GovernmentDemonstrated experience in leading and project managing high-value complex procurement projects, preferably in a commercial property and/or facilities management context, using a variety of techniques to deliver optimal commercial and contractual outcomes that realise sustainable valueDemonstrated experience in managing effective Transition phase of complex procurement projects including seamless coordination of demobilisation and transition in planning and aligning a new/existing supplier to the organisations requirements as outlined under contractStrong change management experience in a major program context, with exceptional relationship building, verbal and written communication skills with ability to engage with diverse stakeholdersQualificationsTertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or significant experience in a similar senior contracts and sourcing role will be highly regardedKnowledge and experience in project managing complex commercial procurements (preferably facilities management) and end to end transition to operationsExtensive knowledge of Victorian Government procurement policies will be highly regardedHow to apply?Please apply online using the appropriate link below forwarding a copy of your resume and cover letter addressing the key selection criteria highlighting your senior project management experience, your procurement and sourcing experience, and your suitability for the role.
