Reporting directly to the Manager - Development Services, the main responsibilities of this role include:Direct and coordinate a Unit within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level.Models leadership behaviours that align with Council''s Leadership Capability Framework and contributes to a culture where staff and stakeholders have confidence in the way the organisation is lead and services are delivered.Reports to the Section Manager on areas of functional responsibility making professional recommendations for the Section Manager''s consideration.Establishes objectives, timeframes and milestones for the Unit that support the Community Strategic Plan and aligns operational activities accordingly.Process, assess, provide recommendations and determine development applications under relevant delegated authority in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulations and associated legislation.Prepare documentation for and give evidence at Land & Environment Court and Local Court hearings.Assess, report and present regional development applications to the Southern Region Planning Panel.Please refer to the Job Description under the Job Attachments for a comprehensive list of duties, responsibilities and skills required.The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown.
