We will achieve this via our established Outreach programs, which demonstrate excellence in Aboriginal health.Our Vision is that current and future generations of Indigenous (Aboriginal) children can succeed at school unhindered by the debilitating effects of Otitis media and its impacts upon their ability to learn and achieve to their full potential. You will be given the chance to do work that makes a genuine difference in communities, working with children who have auditory processing difficulties as a result of ear disease.POSITIONWe are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing and treating communication disorders in children and working as part of a team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.RESPONSIBILITIESCulturally appropriate assessment of all aspects of communication including speech, language, and auditory processing.Develop and implement individualised treatment plans tailored to each client''s specific communication goals and needs.Provide direct therapy services to individual and groups of clients to improve speech sound production, language comprehension and expression, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing function.Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to establish functional communication goals and facilitate progress towards achieving them.Utilise evidence-based interventions and innovative therapy techniques to maximise communication skills and enhance overall quality of life.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluation findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with stakeholders.Stay current with advancements in the field of speech pathology through continuing education and professional development activities.Collaborative work practices within an interdisciplinary team of health professionals.Support and train other professionals such as education assistants in administering therapeutic programs.Some overnight travel required to regional WA.KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:Bachelor''s degree or higher in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.Current Certified Practicing memberof Speech Pathology Australia, or willingness to obtain this membership before commencement.Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating a wide range of communication disorders in paediatric populations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with paediatric clients and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.Passionate about helping individuals achieve their communication goals and committed to providing high-quality, client-centred care.Current Working with Children CardCurrent Drivers LicenseDESIRABLE:Prior experience working within Aboriginal AustraliansPrevious experience working in remote communitiesPrevious experience working with children in an educational setting4WD experience or advanced driver safety course/experienceCOMPENSATIONThis is an opportunity for a highly motivated professional to assume a pivotal role in the evolution of a fast-growing, highly respected organisation.
