We are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the foundational IT infrastructure services that underpins the Departments clinical, corporate, and business systems.Our scope of responsibility includes:Enterprise Data Centres, server and communications rooms across metropolitan and regional health sitesCompute and Storage Infrastructure, including virtualisation platforms and high-availability compute and storage solutionsNetwork Connectivity, encompassing wide-area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), and enterprise-grade Wi-FiData Protection and Backups, ensuring the availability, security, and recoverability of critical systems and informationCybersecurity Foundations, protecting digital assets and safeguarding patient and public dataCore IT Infrastructure Management, supporting lifecycle planning, capacity, performance availability and resilienceAs a team, we provide the backbone for essential services such as digital medical records, diagnostic imaging systems, nurse call, telehealth, and corporate platforms like HR, finance, and logistics.We work in close collaboration with clinical teams, health executives, and technology partners to ensure infrastructure services are secure, scalable, and aligned with contemporary healthcare needs. Whether its enabling a new digital hospital, expanding services into rural communities, or supporting life-saving care in emergency departments, our team is a critical enabler of modern public health delivery.The Role:In this senior technical role, you will lead the delivery of critical network communications projects and provide expert-level support to operational teams. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our network services through strategic planning, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.Key responsibilities include:Developing and implementing operational strategies, standards, and proceduresLeading the selection and integration of network products and servicesManaging vendor and supplier relationships to ensure service quality and alignmentEngaging in consultation, discovery, planning, and execution of complex ICT initiativesAs a senior member of the team, you will contribute to technology decision-making and the evolution of digital infrastructure services, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and alignment with healthcare business needs.You will need:Proven record of achievement in providing technical leadership, advice and innovative solutions and services within a complex work environment.Can-do approach demonstrated by successful track record of working harmoniously and collaborating with others to foster a productive work ethic and positive workplace culture.Highly developed conceptual and problem-solving skills with demonstrated contemporary program/project management capability and a successful track record in planning, analysing and monitoring program/project progress, including championing change.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of appointment:Fixed term full time, day worker position, commencing as soon as possible for approximately a 12-month period.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary:$128,102 to $134,832 per annum.
