This includes disabilities/mental health, nutrition, in-kind, parent engagement, and health/dental services.Essential FunctionsThe following duties are typical for this position. Other duties may be assigned.- Directs the early childhood programs for Head Start, including planning, management, evaluation, funding, reporting, and community relations. Implements policies and procedures, recommends improvements, and ensures consistency.- Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff, develops work schedules, handles employee concerns, and conducts performance appraisals. Provides training and monitors staff performance.- Manages compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements. Prepares proposals, manages negotiations, and establishes partnerships with foundations, agencies, and organizations.- Prepares and reviews budgets and grant applications. Reports on fiscal matters and program operations. Collaborates with other offices to ensure service delivery.- Acts as an advocate for Head Start through public relations, community involvement, and representation on boards and committees.Additional functions include performing other related duties as required.Minimum QualificationsBachelors Degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Public or Business Administration, or a related field. Plus five years of progressive supervisory experience in a child and family program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional RequirementsSuccessful completion of pre-employment assessments, including fingerprinting, drug testing, medical exams, and background checks.Step Forward is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
