The company has a strong footprint in the mining, minerals, and metals sector, delivering practical, high-value solutions for complex brownfields upgrade projects.This role focuses on sustaining capital projects for major mining clients, including Rio Tinto and BHP. You will be reporting directly to the Design Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed 3D models and technical drawings in line with industry standards and internal proceduresLead and facilitate design reviews across multi-discipline teamsDevelop practical layout solutions with a strong focus on efficiency and constructabilityMonitor design progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgetsCollaborate daily with engineers, project managers, clients, and designersProvide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, including supporting and upskilling remote design teams in AsiaMaintain a high standard of safety in both design and day-to-day practiceWhat you''ll need to succeedStrong experience in piping/mechanical design for mining projects (brownfields preferred)Background in materials handling, wet plants, stackers, crushers, conveyors, chutes, etc.Must have 50/50mechanical and piping backgroundCertificate III or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting (advantageous)Proficiency in 3D modelling tools (MicroStation highly regarded)Strong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to mentor offshore resources (non-managerial but capability-focused support)Ability to work independently and meet deadlinesONLY candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered.(Australian Citizen, PR holder, or Valid Australia working VISA with no restrictions)What you need to do nowIf you have the relevant experience and are looking for a new opportunity to work for a fantastic company, apply now!Nelly.myers@airswift.com /+61 8 6146 4352Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider.
