Director of Workforce and ResourcingPermanent Full-Time | Senior Leadership RoleMildura, VictoriaShape the future of healthcare workforce in regional VictoriaMildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Director of Workforce and Resourcing to lead the transformation of our workforce attraction and recruitment function. In this newly created senior leadership role, you will work closely with the Executive Director of People, Culture and Contract Services, as well as the Human Resources, Organisational Development, and broader hospital leadership teams, including close collaboration with Clinical Education and Clinical Leadership, to deliver a forward looking strategy that strengthens workforce sustainability, reduces agency reliance, and builds workforce pipelines across both clinical and non-clinical roles.With a key focus on the permanent conversion of temporary and agency staff, the Director will lead initiatives that enhance the candidate, hiring manager, and employee experience; drive innovation in sourcing strategies; and embed recruitment as a core business capability across the organisation. The role requires both strategic leadership and a hands-on approach, including operational oversight of day-to-day recruitment functions, while leading a small, dedicated team to deliver end-to-end workforce resourcing outcomes.Key priorities of the role:Drive the design and delivery of workforce resourcing aligned with workforce planning.Lead targeted attraction and conversion strategies to reduce reliance on high-cost temporary and agency labour.Collaborate across nursing, midwifery, mental health, medical, education, and corporate services to meet evolving workforce needs.Implement campaign-based recruitment pipelines, supported by robust onboarding and early retention pathways.Deliver real time insights and analytics to support hiring transparency and proactive workforce decisions.Streamline recruitment systems, workflows, and employer branding to enhance candidate experience and market positioning.What were looking for:Proven success in leading strategic and operational recruitment in a complex or high-volume environment, ideally healthcare or government.Expertise in converting agency/temporary staff into permanent roles and building workforce pipelines.Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.Deep understanding of recruitment governance, onboarding, candidate experience, and employer branding.A hands-on leader who can work both strategically and operationally with recruitment teams and stakeholders.Demonstrated partnership across HRBPs, OD, clinical education, and service leaders.The Mildura Base Public Hospital is an organisation driven by a genuine focus on patient centred care, delivering exceptional care for our consumer base of over 80,0000.
