We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.The RoleCBCity is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Manager City Plan and Infrastructure to lead the planning of long-term community outcomes and infrastructure and drive transformative projects that create lasting community impact.Reporting directly to the Director City Future, this pivotal role will drive city-shaping initiatives across a range of key functions. These include integrated planning and reporting, citywide strategic planning for open space, catchments, recreation, biodiversity and transport, as well as asset and capital works planning, transformational capital projects, and oversight of the Project Management Office (PMO).In this exhilarating position, you will lead a high-performing team of professionals and contractors, committed to delivering exceptional, sustainable, and budget-conscious outcomes . As a trusted strategic advisor, you will provide insightful guidance across the organisation, ensuring all planning and delivery aligns seamlessly with Councils ambitious vision and corporate objectives.With a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and service excellence, this role offers the extraordinary opportunity to directly shape how the Canterbury-Bankstown community experiences and interacts with their city - now and into the future!Join us in shaping the future and making a tangible difference in one of Sydneys most vibrant communities where you can dream, design and create a great City we love.Duties will include but not be limited to:Oversee the coordination and delivery of Council Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) suite of documents.Oversee the planning of City outcomes across a broad range of topics including open space, catchments, recreation, biodiversity, transport.Oversee the planning for major design projects (buildings and public space) that transform the city.Oversee the coordinated planning of Councils assets.Oversee the capital works forward planning and budgeting.Lead the Project Management Office and develop and implement ongoing process improvement initiatives.Negotiate and align competing stakeholder expectations with a strategic view within the complex political and social environment.Be accountable for the effective management of the teams budget and projects by monitoring, measuring outputs, taking corrective action and providing regular progress reports to the Director.Ensure that approved infrastructure projects delivered by City Assets meet the agreed outcomes and consistent with approved plans and strategies.Collaborate as a member of the department''s leadership team to foster a highly engaged team environment and a unified approach to leadership, service delivery, and problem-solving.Representing and promoting Council within the community, business sector, other local authorities, government agencies and broader environment and build and maintain positive working relationships.Engage directly with Councillors, State and Federal Members of Parliament aligning their aspirations with Councils forward plans.Represent the Director of City Future as required.For a full list of duties, click HERE to review the position description.You will haveTertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Engineering, Asset Management, Public Policy, or a related field.Strong experience in developing and implementing strategic plans or policies that achieve long-term outcomes.Proven expertise in asset planning, including lifecycle management and infrastructure optimisation.Advanced critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.Demonstrated capability in budget development, financial management, and project delivery.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with executives, elected officials, and communities.Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing staff or contractors to achieve performance outcomes.Track record of leading change and delivering innovative business improvements.High-level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, consultation, and presentation.Desirable criteria include a sound understanding of how strategic and asset planning support organisational goals, service delivery, and community outcomes, as well as knowledge of the Local Government Act and how local government operates.Salary Is Negotiable Dependent On Skills And Experience.Whats on offerAn Attractive Remuneration Package.5 weeks of annual leave.Contribute to making a positive impact on our community.An investment in your professional growth, fostering continuous learning and development opportunities.Access to our employee Health and Wellbeing Programs.For more information, please contact James Carey (Director City Future) at james.carey@cbcity.nsw.gov.auYou will need to submit your application via the Apply button below and create a login using your email address and upload aResume; andCover Letter addressing the selection criteria within the position description and explaining your suitability for the role.Applications close Thursday 31 July 2025.CBCity is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion.
