Griffith City Council is proactive and energetic and passionate about creating ongoing opportunities for our growing population.Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic motivated individuals for the following position.ENGINEERING DESIGN & APPROVALS MANAGER (Permanent)The Engineering Design & Approvals Manager is responsible for the engineering survey, design & drafting of Councils civil infrastructure. Also to generate roads and traffic engineering programs, assist in the long term infrastructure planning relating to civil infrastructure and the provision of engineering referrals for developments.Qualifications: The successful applicant will require a degree in Civil Engineering acceptable to the Institution of Engineers Australia or tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering with demonstrated relevant experience in the Civil Engineering discipline. Hold a current Australian Class C Drivers Licence or equivalent and a White Card/General Construction Induction Training Card. Please include copies of all relevant licenses and qualifications with your application.Skills & Knowledge: The successful applicant will require a working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (NSW) relating to the development process. Have excellent prioritisation, time management interpersonal and communication skills with a pro-active approach with problem solving, trouble shooting and decision making. Experience in supervising and co-ordinating team members, casual staff, contractors and resources. Knowledge of budget preparation, experience with expenditure monitoring, computer experience and knowledge in MS Office and CAD software programs.Hours of work: 35 hours per week.Salary and conditions: Commencement annual salary range from $127,344.36 to $140,075.52 (Grade 22).
