Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.About the roleThe City of Sydney is seeking a qualified and experienced professional engineer to join our Infrastructure Planning Team.The City owns and manages a large public lighting network servicing its streets, parks, plazas and sports fields. As an industry leader, the City first delivered a largescale LED roll out over 10 years ago. We are now renewing the network with the latest model LED technology and implementing smart controls across the network. Supporting these lights is a network of city owned poles, switchboards and an electrical reticulation network.Reporting to the Principal Engineer - Electrical and Lighting Assets, your responsibilities will contribute to ensuring best practice in the management of this world class electrical and lighting network and that the lighting needs of the community are met.Key Responsibilities: As a subject matter expert, deliver timely, and accurate advice to internal and external stakeholders, and to the position supervisor that ensures compliance with City standards, policies and objectives. Investigate public domain lighting and electrical issues, providing clear technical recommendations and reports. Apply asset management principals to the Citys electrical and lighting network including assessment of asset condition, develop design briefs and project scopes, prepare maintenance and renewal programs, accept handover and ensuring asset data is accurately recorded in City''s asset and GIS systems.To be successful in this role, you will have: Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience working in the field of public domain lighting, problem solving skills and in the provision of technical advice. Demonstrated experience in asset management, including the development of works programs.
