The Committee will provide expert advice to Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) on various organisational matters as set out in the Act, including but not limited to:Cultural change within FRVWorkforce diversity and flexibility within FRVOrganisational governance of FRVFRV''s engagement and integration with the broader emergency management sectorFRV''s future direction, including emerging opportunities and risksMatters on which FRV seeks strategic adviceAny other matter relevant to FRV.For further information on FRV and fire services reform, visit The RoleBoth Chairperson and members are expected to:Deliver expert and authoritative advice on organisational matters to FRVDeliver the Committees strategic focus as outlined in the Committees Terms of ReferenceContribute to the Committee meetings, including maintaining integrity and good governance principlesProvide advice to help FRV build its relationship with Government, and other key stakeholders, to help progress FRV''s objectives.For further information on the Strategic Advisory Committee, visit Strategic Advisory Committee | Fire Rescue Victoria (frv.vic.gov.au).Who we''re looking forYou will have a proven record in providing considered advice for senior leaders in government on organisational matters, advocacy, partnerships and strategy.Candidates will be shortlisted based on expertise, qualifications or experience aligned to FRVs Strategic Pillars, as outlined in FRVs Strategic Plan 2022-2032, and the Committees Strategic Focus.Skills: Candidates should possess skills in at least two or more of the following areas:Strategic and ethical leadership demonstrated through public sector governance, board experience, and/or public administrationEmergency management / Emergency Service OrganisationsGovernment Relations Change and AdvocacyMatters that affect the future of the service (outside of culture) - financial sustainability, organisational change in the industrial landscape including staff retention, emerging technologiesRegulations / Built EnvironmentCommunity and stakeholder engagementCandidates For The Committee Should Also DemonstrateCommitment to public servicePersonal integrity, good reputation and community standing, andBroad awareness of diversity, cultural, gender, disability and mental health issues.Diverse Representation: We welcome broad and diverse representation on the Committee. Recommendations of a suitable candidate will be provided to the Minister for Emergency Services for consideration.Meeting Frequency: The Committee meets four times in a financial year, including any ad hoc meetings as required.Term Commencement: October 2025Contract Term Duration: Five yearsMeeting Location: Meetings are held at FRVs Melbourne offices during normal business hours, and it is expected that members attend meetings in person, subject to special support provisions.To ensure that we can speak to applicants across Victoria, we will be undertaking online interviews for these positions.
