The objective of the Senior Software Engineer (Guidewire) is to work with Tribe, Platform leaders and the Engineering Practice to design, develop and implement improvements to our capability in Engineering. This role encompasses systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support for Suncorp''s Guidewire software, as well as coaching and mentoring junior Engineers.What Youll DoCoach and mentor engineers to improve engineering capabilities and embed best practicesHighly proficient in delivery of technical projects using AgilePrioritise and drive Automation in deliveryEmbed a DevOps/DevSecOps mindset and practices within the teamIdentify opportunities to improve development processes and standardsDevelop a highly collaborative working relationship with delivery teams and stakeholdersWhat Youll Bring5+ years software engineering experiencePrevious experience of coaching and mentoring engineersProficiency in Guidewire ClaimCenter, Contact Manager, and Guidewire system/business frameworksProficiency in developing integration solutions including Batch Processes, Message Queues and Event Messaging.Proven track record of integrating ClaimCenter with external systemsStrong experience in development frameworks (Java/Spring/Spring Boot), Gosu(for Guidewire), Cloud (AWS/Azure), Databases (SQL/ORM/JDBC), REST APIs and DevOps.Proven Testing skills including ATDD and BDD.What We Can Offer YouVariety of flexible work arrangements and leave optionsIndustry leading 20 weeks paid parental leave and 4 weeks secondary carers leaveGenerous discounts on insurance productsExclusive offers on more than 400 of retailers including Myer, David Jones, Coles and WoolworthsInvest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programsAbout Suncorp GroupWere proud to be a part of the Suncorp Group family alongside some of Australias most trusted and diverse names in insurance.
