This is a key role in the ongoing development and support of our Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) operations.The primary focus of this role is to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of autonomous mobile equipment, including autonomous haul trucks and ancillary systems, to ensure minimal downtime and optimal operational efficiency. Our current fleet size is 78 Autonomous vehicles.You will collaborate closely with OEMs, maintenance, operations, control, and technology teams to identify improvement opportunities, implement best practices, and resolve complex equipment performance issues.Duties :Monitor and analyse AHS equipment performance and reliability data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies and initiatives across the autonomous fleet.Collaborate with OEMs and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues related to autonomous systems.Drive defect elimination and continuous improvement programs to reduce equipment downtime and maintenance costs.Contribute to planning and execution of predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.Support commissioning and ramp-up activities for new autonomous equipment deployments.Provide technical input to maintenance and operations team to optimise equipment performance.Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of Hancock Iron Ores HSE procedures and initiatives.Skills and Experience :Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering, preferably in a mining or heavy industry environment.Hands-on experience with AHS or autonomous mobile equipment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including failure analysis and defect elimination.Familiarity with reliability tools such as RCA, RCM, FMEA, Weibull analysis, etc.Proficiency in data analysis tools and maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, PI System, Power BI).Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams.Understanding of safety, regulatory, and operational aspects of autonomous mining.Mine Site Facilities :Modern, comfortable camp accommodationHigh quality gourmet food options (vegan, gluten free and healthy options)Large fully equipped gym facility, as well as a gym specifically for femalesHeated outdoor swimming poolBeach Volleyball court and Golf simulatorsVillage shop and extensive supporting amenitiesSWIFT in-room entertainment with comprehensive content and own-device casting capabilityActive social club with community events and activities for employeesLifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your familyAbout Hancock Iron OreThe world of iron ore is evolving, and so are we.
