Join one of Australias largest and most reputable real estate debt platforms in a senior leadership role that sits at the core of credit strategy, recovery, and value protection.Youll take full ownership of the restructuring and turnaround agenda across a sophisticated, institutional-grade loan book, leading complex workouts, navigating high-stakes situations, and shaping risk outcomes at the highest level.This is your opportunity to influence investment committees, guide credit policy, and safeguard capital in an environment that values precision, responsibility, and bold decision-making.The OpportunityAs Head of Restructuring Services, you will lead the strategic management of distressed and underperforming property loans across a multi-billion-dollar platform. Acting as the organisations senior authority on credit recovery, workouts, and restructuring, you will partner closely with C-suite executives, investment leads, and credit specialists to drive robust portfolio outcomes and risk mitigation strategies.You will play a pivotal role in managing non-performing loans (NPLs), overseeing complex restructures, and directing strategic asset recoveries. This is a hands-on leadership role at the sharp edge of property finance, offering profound impact, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to high-value investment and credit decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the resolution and recovery of delinquent or non-performing property loans through restructures, asset disposals, and enforcement.Design and implement recovery strategies that are aligned with market conditions and collateral movements.Advise investment and credit teams on early signs of asset distress and manage triage of at-risk positions.Oversee regular portfolio stress testing, risk reporting, and scenario analysis across the distressed asset book.Collaborate with senior executives across Investment, Risk, and Credit functions to refine underwriting and credit decision-making frameworks.Drive lessons-learned analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio management function.Represent the function in high-stakes discussions with internal committees, external auditors, investors, and regulators.About You15+ years of experience in credit risk, special situations, NPL recovery, or property workouts ideally within a lender, fund, bank, or advisory firm.Deep technical fluency in real estate lending, including restructures, enforcement, and insolvency pathways.Strong command of regulatory standards (e.g. Basel, IFRS 9), credit models, and risk assessment frameworks.Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the gravitas to influence senior executives, legal advisors, and regulators.Commercially driven, yet grounded in process and integrity, you combine strategic thinking with a bias for decisive action.Qualifications in Finance, Law, Economics, or related; CFA or MBA advantageous.Why Join?Executive-level role with full accountability for the distressed debt and restructuring strategy.Work with a high-performing team at the forefront of Australias real estate debt markets.Shape the credit risk posture and governance for an institutional platform with a national footprint.Be part of a values-led, collaborative culture that empowers ownership, responsibility, and results.Next StepsIf you are a seasoned restructuring professional looking for a career-defining opportunity, wed love to hear from you.
