Our team comprises of a diverse range of experience levels and backgrounds and operates a wide range of plant to deliver both construction and maintenance tasks.In this role, you will assume the responsibilities of a general Civil Maintenance Officer and will be involved in a broad spectrum of maintenance tasks across the coastal and hinterland areas of the Surf Coast Shire Council.What You Will Bring To The RoleWe are looking for someone with experience in the maintenance and construction of civil infrastructure, and preferably someone with experience working in a local government environment.To be successful in this role you will:be able to read basic construction plans,be familiar in working with modern WH&S systemsbe competent in aspects of civil works (such as achieving material compaction, taking measurements, following procedures and operating equipment).Key selection criteriaMandatory Qualifications, Experience And RequirementsHolder of a current Medium Rigid (MR) or higher drivers licence with relevant endorsements to operate plant as assigned.Several years experience in civil works.Skills and knowledge gained through on-the-job training relevant to the position.Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of municipal assets.Experience in a Local Government environment.A current Working With Children CheckYou have the permanent right to live and work in AustraliaPolice Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
