The Role We have an exciting opportunity for an Innovation Technologist to contribute to the successful launch of new products. You will oversee process improvements, including establishing and validating the internal shelf life for WIP components, premixes, and blends used at our manufacturing site. Reporting to the Innovation Manager, your responsibilities will include: Supporting product innovation and development projects from concept to commercialisation. Conducting and overseeing product and process trials, including preparation, execution, documentation, and review. Collaborating with Procurement, Finance, and Operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise formulations. Ensuring products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Producing and sending product samples for evaluation, customer approval, and testing. Completing product specifications and trial documentation accurately and efficiently. Supporting first production runs, including line setup, ingredient preparation, and troubleshooting. Coordinating cross-functional teams for smooth product launches, including marketing, quality, engineering, and operations. Recommending formulation or process adjustments during manufacturing to resolve issues and maintain flow. Promoting safety by adhering to OH&S guidelines and demonstrating safe work practices. The Person To be successful, candidates should have a passion for this field and possess the following skills and experience: Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Hands-on experience in product development, line trials, or food manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, and quality assurance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal systems quickly. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
