Reporting to the HST Superintendent, you will help coordinate site-based occupational Health & Safety activities to support workplace competence, protect equipment integrity and ensure the safe use and handling of materials.Key Responsibilities IncludeAssisting with maintaining the sites Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), including updating procedures and ensuring they meet legal requirementsAssisting with safety incident investigations and supporting the development of reports and follow-up actionsTaking part in risk assessments and helping frontline teams understand and manage workplace hazardsIdentifying and addressing safety issues on siteParticipating in regular safety inspections, audits and field checks, offering practical advice to improve safety practicesSupporting injured workers with return to work, working alongside health professionalsHelping to coordinate monitoring and audits related to workplace health (e.g. dust, noise, hygiene)Sharing safety updates with site teams and communicating key messages across departmentsWorking closely with other safety team members and learning from experienced advisorsAssisting with emergency response planning and help manage site security programsAbout YouBachelors degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety or a related qualification2+ years experience in a Health & Safety position, ideally in mining or other heavy industryExperience with Microsoft suite including SharePoint and safety and training databasesUnderstanding of health and safety regulations within the mining industry will be highly regardedExcellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skillsWorking At BUMABUMA Australia is a people focused business, with a strong emphasis on safety, training, development and continuous improvement. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations.
