This includes managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial records, supporting enrolment processes, and responding to enquiries via telephone and email. Additionally, the Finance Officer plays a key role in overseeing internal financial controls, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the development of school budgets.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTypical duties performed may include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the management and coordination of the schools financial processes which may include: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing financial risks. Overseeing internal financial controls, financial records, grants, and expenditure to align with approved budgets. Identifying, designing, and executing process improvements. Leading the preparation and maintenance of documentation to support audits, ensuring transparency and accountability. Providing financial reports to senior management, analysing variances in school expenditure, and offering professional advice on budget development. Managing a variety of financial transactions, including receipting, reconciliations, invoicing, and the administration of school credit cards. Processing of payments, wages, and GST submissions. Supporting and educating school staff on financial processes and the use of finance related software. Maintaining staff personnel files and providing general administration support. Providing support for procurement of school resources and supplies. Assisting with the supervision of the finance team. Assisting families with financial processes such as establishing payment plans, administering fee concessions, and managing financial aspects related to enrolments, scholarships, and payments from external organisations like ABSTUDY. Administering the hiring out of school facilities and supporting the principal in liaising with contractors and managing contracts for services. Attending relevant meetings and professional development as required.
