The East Kimberley is diverse in many ways, witha unique mix of cultures, lifestyles, and abundantopportunities.TheOpportunityWe are lookingfor a motivated Team Leader Ranger to join our Ranger and EmergencyServices Team in Kununurra interpret, administer and comply withrelevant legislation, Council Policies and Local Laws applicable tothe functions of a local government Ranger and Emergency ServicesTeam. This role also focuses on assisting with the supervision ofthe Rangers ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatoryrequirements as well as providing high standards of service to theorganisation.Yourresponsibilities will include:Supervising theShires team of Rangers, including mentoring, ensuringcompliance with relevant legislation and workinstructionsEnsuringcompliance with the Dog Act 1976, Cat Act 2011, Control ofOff-Road Vehicles Act 1978, Litter Act 1979, Caravan andCamping Grounds Act 1995, Bush Fire Act 1994, and LocalGovernment ActLiaisingwith a range of customers and stakeholders including governmentdepartments and agencies, emergency services, animal welfareorganisations, community groups, members of the public andShire staffCarryingout duties in relation to animal controlUndertaking fire breakand property inspections to ensure compliance with the BushFires Act 1954, Regulations and Local Laws relating tofirebreaksUndertaking BushfireControl & Weather Officer duties in line with the BushFires Act 1954Undertaking communityengagement and providing input into and undertaking educationalprograms for schools and community groups on aspects of RangerServicesRelevant certifications inFirearms Handling and Safety, Reptile Handling and Capture,Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) Part 1&2, currentunrestricted WA C Class Drivers Licence, current HepatitisA, Hepatitis B and ADT (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Whooping Cough),current National Police Check (dated within 6 months), and currentAdvanced First Aid certificate are essential for thisrole.You will also need workingknowledge of the Dog Act 1976, Cat Act 2011, Bush Fires Act 1954,Litter Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1995 and associatedregulations and local laws.
