Add expected salary to your profile for insightsFinalise and implement the Cottages strategy and annual work plans in consultation with the Board and key staffThis includes development of strategies and execution for fundraising, community engagement, advocacy and client growth, with the support of the Board and other staffImplementation of sound organisational and governance practices, and maintaining regulatory compliance across the child care, social services, and not-for-profit sectorsManage the accounting and finances of the Cottage including working with the Board Treasurer and external book keeper to develop the annual budget as well as mentoring key staff on financial management, and urgent budget requirementsAttend bi-monthly board meetings including organising the annual general meeting, and preparation of operational board reports and annual reportingManage both Womens Counselling Service and Occasional Childcare staff and day to day operational issuesProvide leadership to the OCC staff to ensure rosters, ratio''s and programming are adequate to meet regulatory requirementsWork with clients and parents where required, in a sensitive and professional wayDrive successful fundraising for the Cottage as well as identify opportunities for revenue diversification, with the support of the Board, including preparation of grant submissionsCreate, maintain, and improve the Cottages brand presence, including maintenance and development of the website and other online communication platformsOverseeing the social media and promotion of the Cottage where appropriate (managing the website updates, posting on social media, developing a social media plan with the support of key staff)Acting as the primary liaison with grant funders and governments, including attending functions, panels and community events where advantageous and/or required.SKILLS REQUIREDStaff Management experience managing a diverse team. The candidate should demonstrate experience in staff development, performance management, and creating positive workplace cultures for a small team.Initiative and Accountability works effectively with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, self motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, and commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Cottage.Communication high level of communication skills, with the ability to identify and understand the needs of different target audiences and develop communications that resonate, as well as the ability to monitor the success of communications and refine accordingly and effectively use various communications platforms. This will include internal and external communications, like government submissions for funding and preparation of annual reports.Operational Management ability to manage all aspects of the operations of the Cottage including but not limited to financial and resource management, governance and organisational compliance, and staff. They need proven skills in strategic planning, budget management, and operational oversight, with the ability to balance quality service delivery with financial sustainability.Financial Sustainability - experience in budgeting, cost management, and navigating resource-constrained environments.Fundraising and Revenue Generation Interest and ability to understand funding needs and opportunities for private and public fundraising for not-for-profits. This will include assessing and applying for grant applications, seeking private donors, working with philanthropy and identifying new avenues for fundraising.Sector knowledge while not critical, it is desirable for the candidate to have experience in as many of the below fields as possible:counselling service operationschild care services operations;not-for-profits (such as, experience with grant applications, stakeholder management, and working with boards of governance and advocacy bodies.)IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have strong sense of community, and desire to work in a not-for-profit sector, supporting the growth of an organisation with a strong values base. The candidate should be capable of managing multiple priorities in a resource-constrained environment while maintaining high standards of care and compliance, and work in parallel to a committed Board.Having strong people management and interpersonal skills will be critical, as well as a strategic mind, working closely with a Board to drive a strategy for growth and longevity for the organisation. The candidate should be able to show skills in strategic planning, budget management, and operational oversight, with the ability to balance quality service delivery with financial sustainability.A candidate with a deep understanding of the local community will be favourable.A current Working with Children Check will be mandatory (which can be completed upon successful application).ORGANISATIONS PURPOSEBondi Beach Cottage (the Cottage) exists to provide evidence-based family support services for women, with a focus on domestic and family violence support and to provide quality occasional childcare services to the local community. In delivering on its purpose, the Cottage provides two primary services:Womens Counselling Service: The Cottage provides fee-free specialist domestic and family violence counselling and support services for women. We also provide limited fee-free counselling to women who have not experienced domestic or family violence but who have experienced barriers accessing other counselling and support.Occasional Childcare Centre:The Cottage provides quality and affordable care for up to 20 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
