We are seeking compassionate, values-driven Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and help guide the strategic direction of CatholicCare Sydney.About UsWe are the social services agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. With a proud history, we were formed in 1941 with the mission of ensuring that children, families and other vulnerable individuals were given dignity, opportunity and justice. Since our inception over 80 years ago, CatholicCares services have helped people of all ages to live and thrive irrespective of beliefs and abilities.Through our 650+ staff and 150 volunteers, CatholicCare helps Sydney families and communities through a diverse range of services spanning counselling and relationships services, aged care, disability services, allied health and pastoral services.The RoleCatholicCare has a vision for a thriving, inclusive society where everyone finds support, purpose and belonging. As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a vital governance role, contributing to strategic planning, financial oversight, and risk management. You will work alongside a committed Board and Executive Team to ensure our mission is fulfilled with integrity, accountability, and long-term sustainability.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide independent oversight, strategic insight, and leadershipEnsure compliance with legal and regulatory obligationsUphold and champion the organisations beliefs and valuesContribute to key decisions on strategy, policy, and financial stewardshipActively participate in bi-monthly Board meetings and relevant sub-committeesWhat Were Looking ForWe welcome expressions of interest from individuals who can demonstrate:Experience within social services or community sectorsStrategic planning and leadershipLived experience or strong understanding of the communities we servePhilanthropic or fundraising experienceStrong financial literacy and risk management experiencePersonal qualities of integrity, collaboration, sound judgement, courage and excellent communication skills.To complement the skills and experience of existing board members, CatholicCare is seeking specific knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:Clinical governance,Finance and accounting,IT expertise, orUnderstanding of the school systemAll Board members must demonstrate respect for CatholicCares faith-based identity and a commitment to its spiritual and ethical foundations.Time CommitmentThis is a voluntary position.
