In return for higher levels of self-responsibility, thestudents can enjoy some greater freedoms.An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and committed Head of School to lead the continued growth and development of Indie School Werribee a new campus within our multi-campus network, catering to students in Years 912. This role is to commence term 4, 2025.Reporting to the Executive Principal Victoria, the Head of School is responsible for overseeing all aspects of teaching and learning, student wellbeing, and day-to-day operations of the Werribee campus, while working collaboratively within the broader Indie School community across the state.As a Special Assistance School, Indie School Werribeewill join the other Indie School campuses in Victoria to provide young people with an opportunity to learn in a safe and supportive environment, using individualised learning plans tailored to each student''s circumstances.As Head of School, the successful candidate will work closely with other Heads of School and the Executive Principal (Victoria) to facilitate the Indie Way through the creation and delivery of high-quality holistic learning programs.Core Workplace ObjectivesActioning approved Development Plan and Indie School modelPolicy and Procedure implementation. Provide recommendations for change to State Principal and/or Executive Principal for Quality and Compliance approvalDraft production of Annual Indie School (or Campus) ReportStaff management including recruitment (as per approved Development Plan), annual performance reviews and disciplinary action, as needed.Workplace Tasking & Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance against Indie standard operating procedures, including the development and implementation of school policies and proceduresManage the day-to-day running of the allocated location(s), including student and staff support and managementManage a functional unit with a complex set of objectives and significant resources, including operational responsibilities of defined teamsAssist with efficiency analysis, applying solution-focused approach to managing inefficiencies and with regard for quality and compliance aspectsAssist with planning, proposals and implementations of school improvements, demonstrating proficiency within the work areas existing rules, regulations, procedures and systemsUndertake high-level creative and effective planning, programming and managerial functions, with clear accountability for performance and outcomesState regulatory body liaison, including ongoing compliance with school registration and auditing requirementsSchool data collection, review and reporting, as per internal and external timelines and requirementsExpenditure as per approved budget, including the development of complex projects of $300k plusComprehensive knowledge of relevant and related Indie programsSubject teaching, as per employment contract and/or as requiredFor this position with our company, applicants must:Have a deep understanding of effective teaching, learning and classroom management practicesdemonstrated experience as an exemplary teacherDemonstrated capacity for educational leadership within a school settingDemonstrated ability to lead a team and to work within a team.Demonstrate high level decision making skills with minimal consultation to upper Management,Provide high level solutions to problems are provided and followed through with improvement of outcomes,For this position with our company, applicants must be willing and able to provide:Qualification in TeachingNational Police Check, issued in the 3 months prior to commencement and annually thereafterCurrent Australian Drivers LicenceHold a currentVIT registration (VIC).Remuneration:$160,135 per annum (plus superannuation)based on skills and experienceA company laptop and phone are provided with this positionA company car will be provided with this positionSalary packaging through MaxxiaTo apply:All applicantsmustsubmit aCover Letter(no more than 2 pages) addressing the Workplace Taskings for this role as listed above, along with aResume.To apply, please submit a current Resume along with a cover letter.Applications close on the 27 August 2025.
