Located in the heart of Victoria''s Yarra Valley, the campus offers a range of specialised programs and training opportunities in areas such as outdoor leadership, environmental management, and hospitality.This Chef role works closely with the Head and Sous Chefs to prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals. You''ll support the delivery of catering services - breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and refreshments - on time, within budget, and to expected standards. Duties also include stock control, hygiene maintenance, and contributing to smooth daily kitchen operations. Ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for quality food in a fast-paced team environment.This opportunity is ideal for Murrindindi locals or those eager to relocate, with a focus on seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced cuisine for both corporate and student menus.As a Chef, you will:Prepare high-quality, seasonal meals with appealing presentation for student and corporate groups.Maintain food safety, stock rotation, hygiene and cost control in line with Institute and Food Safety Victoria standards.Develop and review menus biannually, incorporating seasonal produce, client feedback and local suppliers.Support kitchen garden and paddock to plate initiatives and assist with student workshops as required.Participate in team meetings, contribute to process improvements, and provide reports on operational matters.To be successful, youll have:Demonstrated expertise in preparing high-quality, seasonal meals for large and diverse groups.Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sustainability, with use of local produce.Skilled in inventory, planning, cost control and minimising waste in kitchen operations.Collaborative, adaptable and experienced in high-pressure environments and student support.Hold Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, VCE (or equivalent), food safety certificates, drivers licence, and valid Australian working rights.WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an employee Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.Our commitment to you:At Holmesglen Institute, we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and flexible workplace where our employees can thrive both personally and professionally.
