Amentum is fiercely committed to operational excellence and successful execution.Are you seeking a career that offers a healthy work-life balance, a friendly company culture, and engagement with a supportive community?Amentum has an exciting opportunity for Facilities Shift Operator to join their team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.It is a condition upon your application that candidates are Australian or US citizens to obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.THE ROLEThe Facilities Shift Operator plays an integral role in ensuring safe, reliable & effective Operation.The Facilities Shift Operator is a part of a team responsible for 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation and control of all site infrastructure, utilities and equipment.As a Facilities shift Operator you will manage critical power, generation, cooling and hydraulic systems whilst keeping accurate records, completing routine inspections and compiling data on site infrastructure, equipment and essential operating systems.Facilities Shift Operators also play a role in switching between different power, generation & utilities configurations and performing safe equipment isolations whilst guaranteeing site reliability. This will include technical assessment and investigation of proposed isolation and configuration changes to utilities, Equipment and infrastructure.Additionally, Facilities Shift Operator will be called upon to react and provide emergency response ensuring site service interruptions are avoided and all critical components are operational. This will include performing maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure.This is a diverse, multi-facetted position within a team of specialized experts who have control over and maintain a unique site. As a member of this team, you will join one of 4 shift teams on a 3x days, 1x day off, 3x nights, 5 days off roster (12hr shifts) to guarantee 24/7 support and coverage to the facility and all utilities and equipment.Essential ResponsibilitiesMonitor/ control site infrastructure and equipmentConduct safe configuration change and equipment isolationTechnical assessment and technical documentation writing and reviewRoutine equipment inspection, data collection and metric reportingConduct maintenance and repair to equipment and components to your abilityComplete reports, incident and event data collectionInvestigate and review system anomaliesLead and contribute to development of technical process and proceduresEnsure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirementsAny other reasonable duties as requestedQualificationsMinimum Essential(AUS) Certificate III in relevant Trade or equivalent experience and skills (US) related facilities certificationsApplicable trades include but are not limited to:ElectricalPlumbingRefrigerationMechanicalNon-Electricians will require a restricted electrical license for the purpose of testing for dead.2 years post apprenticeship trade experience or experience as Facilities/ infrastructure OperatorUnderstanding of Infrastructure, facilities equipment and functionality within a large operational facilityOR Certification & Experience in Facilities Plant Operation and ManagementUnderstanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective)Understanding of technical plans and drawings with the ability to read and assess plans and all manner or technical documentsBasic computer skills including Office 365 programs and excelDesirableExperience and foundation in leadership/ team leader positions in trades or technical sectorHV switching certification/ experienceExperience in Power Generation or Power NetworksExperience working with HMI based control systems/ SCADA or BMS systemsTICKETS AND LICENCESDrivers License(AUS) Certificate III in relevant Trade or equivalent experience and skills (US) related facilities certificationsDesirableDogger/ rigger/ Crane license.HV switching certificationConfined space entryFirst aid with CPR/LV rescuePrior experience in Facilities operator based roleEXPERIENCE Minimum Essential2 Years minimum post trade experience as qualified tradespersonWORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDSFacilities Shift Operators should be able to perform general trades-based tasks and physical work of light to moderately heavy physicalityThe position will also require some extended periods sitting and working in an office space monitoring equipment via HMI. Additionally there may be extended periods of office work reading and interpreting plans and completing technical documentationThe position may also call for extended periods of manual trade-based labour and time on feet working with tools and equipmentAttention to detail and high concentration levels are required along with the ability to multitask and perform thorough decision making processesPhysical RequirementsPersonnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed. This includes but is not limited to being able to carry and control moderate to heavy loads and being able to safely traverse and access maintenance environments which may be uneven or cramped.SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTIt is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.
