The role plays a key part in shaping how control testing is carried out across the organisation, ensuring it aligns with the broader Three Lines of Defence model. Its a hands-on leadership position that spans both business and IT General Controls, with a strong focus on consistency, automation, and meaningful insights.Youll be working closely with teams across the Groupfrom Risk and Technology to Internal Audit and Transformationto design and implement a control assurance plan thats tailored to BOQ Groups operating environment. Youll guide a team of assurance professionals, foster a high-performance culture, and provide clear, actionable reporting to senior stakeholders. This role also involves engaging with control owners and risk stewards, helping them understand findings and supporting them in planning next steps.If you enjoy leading through change, bringing clarity to complex environments, and embedding a culture of compliance by design, this role offers the scope and influence to make a real impact.About YouYou bring a strong understanding of risk management, internal controls, and assurance frameworks, and you know how to apply these in a practical, business-focused way. Youre confident in audit and control testing techniques and comfortable working across both business and technology domains. Youre also curious about automation and data-driven approaches, and keen to explore how these can enhance assurance practices.Communication is one of your strengthsyou know how to translate technical findings into insights that resonate with senior stakeholders. Youre also a collaborative leader who enjoys coaching and developing others, and you thrive in dynamic environments where strategic thinking and problem-solving are key.Ideally, youll have experience in internal or external audit, and a background in financial services or banking.
