The experienced management team allows MCA to provide a total industry solution to their customer base in the mining industry across Australia with many great examples of eclectic and challenging projects ranging from small to large.Were now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multi-disciplinary engineering team and drive the successful delivery of technical projects from concept to execution. This is a pivotal leadership role based in Thornton, NSW, offering a unique opportunity to lead engineering capability across a range of exciting, challenging projects.Key Responsibilities:Manage and lead the engineering team, ensuring all projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.Accountability for the execution of all engineering works and technical deliverablesDevelop, implement, and maintain engineering processes, standards, design documentation, procedures, specifications and change management.Lead the preparation of drawings, sketches, sizing calculations, datasheets, and material take-offs.Review and approve drawings produced by inhouse and external designers in line with MCA drafting standards.Coordinate labour and internal resources across engineering projects.Plan and forecast engineering workload and team capacity.Identify and communicate change management requirements, statutory updates, or regulatory changes within MCAs OEM fleet.Lead design risk reviews in conjunction with your team and broader stakeholders.Review customer-supplied specifications, procedures, and vendor data for accuracy and compliance.Assist with preparation of quotes, tenders, and technical proposals as required.Manage engineering-related costs, budgets, and subcontractors.About You:Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Structural or Civil EngineeringChartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or RPEQ registration is desirable.Extensive experience in heavy industrial, mining, or construction engineering.Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.Strong understanding of structural steel, concrete structures, mechanical systems, or related disciplines.Skilled in reviewing engineering documentation, drawings, and 3D models (AutoCAD/Inventor preferred)Familiar with Australian Standards and industry codes.Excellent stakeholder management, team leadership, and communication skillsA solutions-driven mindset with strong organisational and commercial awarenessMCA Projects Include:Shaft Equipping.Mine infrastructure design & construction.Conveyance & Winding System Design & ManufactureOre Pass Design & InstallationsFRP and Structural Projects.Rising Mains & Concrete Slick Lines.Passive Mooring Systems (Oil & Gas)Mobile equipment upgrades and modifications.Site Labour Hire & Mine MaintenanceWhat We Offer:Senior leadership role with growth potentialCompetitive salaryOpportunities for professional development and team buildingPositive, safety-first cultureBe a key part of MCAs national growth and delivery success.If you''re a motivated engineering leader looking to take the next step in a role that combines technical depth, people leadership, and project variety, wed love to hear from you.
