We welcome and encourage applications from all ages andgenders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturallydiverse backgrounds, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans and people withdisabilities.The RolesWe have multiple casual opportunities availablein our Arts and Culture branch, within our libraries.We are currently seeking to create a casual pool of LibraryAssistants who will assist with customer service duties including shelving, program bookingsand maintaining membership records as well assisting in promoting Libraryprograms to patrons and maintaining excellent presentation of Hawkesburylibraries.We are also seeking to create a casual pool of LibraryOfficers who will assist with Library related customer service activities, including providing a high-quality Readers Advisory Service to promoteboth fiction and nonfiction reading for the dual purposes of satisfying readerneeds and advancing literacy skills.Essential Criteria Library AssistantHigher School CertificateExcellent public manner and ability to communicate well with a wide range of peopleAbility to determine customer needs and achieve quality outcomesAbility to work with adults and childrenAbility to carry out duties and responsibilities of the position with minimum supervision on a day-to-day basisProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to become skilled with unfamiliar software and technology in generalEssential Criteria Library OfficerDiploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent qualification and experience working in a libraryDemonstrated ability to deliver quality customer service by determining customer needs and achieving quality outcomesConfident and experienced with using digital, online technologyInformation research and retrieval skillsExcellent public manner and ability to communicate well with a wide range of peopleAbility to work as part of a team environment, contribute to service improvements and adapt to changeAbility to carry out duties and responsibilities of the position with the minimum of supervision on a day-to-day basisProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to become skilled with unfamiliar software and technology in generalHighly DesirablePrevious public library experienceBoth Positions RequireThe right to live and work in AustraliaClass C Drivers LicenceWorking with Children Check (WWCC)Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declarationThe RewardsThere are manyBenefits To Working At Hawkesbury Council, IncludingGreat working environmentFlexible workHealth and Wellbeing ProgramLong Service Leave after 5 yearsTraining and Development OpportunitiesEmployee Reward and Recognition programFitness Passport optionSocial Club -
