Enabling genuine student engagement and success is central to our school ethos.An understanding of current teaching practices in Years 7 to 12 Food Technology and other Technologies subject areas including, but not specific to Textiles, are highly desired. The capacity to be innovative in these subject areas is also important. Applicants will possess the ability to work collaboratively in a team to develop and implement teaching, learning and assessment practices. They will also be reflective, open to feedback and have a growth mindset. The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills and promote the Technologies Department and school in the broader community.A clear understanding of trauma informed practice as well as current Department of Education key policies and initiatives such as the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework, Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact resource are important. The proven ability to differentiate content in lessons to provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for a range of students should be provided in the Technologies context. Additionally, a capacity to utilise student data to support improvement in student skill and knowledge development as well as teaching practice is also highly desirable.Current skills that enhance the delivery of the Food Technology program including health, hygiene and food safety are also requirements of the role.
