Title: HR Coordinator Location: Townsville Details: Full Time Permanent Position The organisation Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia (RMHC North Australia) is a vibrant, busy organisation with a mission to improve the health and well-being of seriously ill and/or injured children through practical care programs and provide support to high-risk expectant mothers and their families. Our services operate 365 days of the year. The Role We are seeking a compassionate and proactive HR Coordinator to join our team in Townsville. Reporting to the Business Manager (responsible for Finance, People & Culture, IT and Risk), and part of the Business Team, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a genuine impact. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and offboarding Support the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures Contribute to a positive and inclusive organisational culture Assist in implementing behaviour and culture frameworks across the team Support the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of volunteers Assist with HR systems administration, compliance, and internal reporting Provide general administrative support to the Business Manager Collaborate across teams to support continuous improvement and operational success This is a dynamic role with plenty of scope to grow and shape your professional development. Selection Criteria: Experience in HR coordination with knowledge of Australia employment legislation and HR compliance requirements Experience in leading or supporting teams Experience in implementing culture and positive behaviour frameworks Experience in developing and maintenance of policies and procedures Experience working with, and recruitment of Volunteers (desired) Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Has a positive, can-do attitude Familiarity with HRIS systems (Culture Amp and Definitiv highly regarded) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information A proactive, team-oriented mindset Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check If youre someone whos excited to make a difference and grow with an organisation that values heart, hard work, and humility, wed love to hear from you.
