Bus transportation is provided to and from West Wyalong at the beginning and end of your shift.?This roster is 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off and a 12 hours day.?We understand that flexible work means something different to everyone and encourage you to have a conversation about the flexible work options available.About the roleAs a Mine Services Operator at Cowal, youll play a critical role in maintaining safe and productive mining operations by managing the dewatering of the open pit. This includes:installing and maintaining pumpsconnecting pipeworksupporting depressurisation systems to control groundwater.Youll also assist with general mine services tasks, contributing to the smooth execution of mining projects.What makes this role unique is its niche technical focusyoull gain specialised experience in pit dewatering, a vital function that directly impacts operational success. While the work can be physically demanding, it offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work both independently and in pairs depending on site activity. For the right candidate, theres also scope to develop into operating machinery such as loaders and excavators, enhancing your versatility and value on site.This role is also a great entry point into mining for individuals with no prior industry experience. If youre practical, reliable, and eager to learn, well support your development with on-the-job training and the opportunity to build a long-term career in mining.About youYoure a hands-on, safety-focused individual with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Ideally, you bring experience in open pit dewatering or a background in practical, outdoor work such as plumbing, farming, or labouring. You hold a current Light Vehicle (LV) licence, and while tickets like C2 Crane, Dogman, Poly Welding, or Chainsaw competency are desirable, theyre not essentialwe can support you to gain them.You thrive in a role that offers both independence and teamwork, and youre motivated by the chance to contribute meaningfully to site operations.
