Our dedicated team thrives on excellence, delivering seamless service with meticulous attention to safety, reliability, and client satisfaction.If you are passionate about aviation, customercentred service, and thrive in a dynamic team that values professionalism and integrity, Australia by Air wants to hear from you.The Australia By Air (AbA) team seeks a suitable leader for the operation.The role spans General Management, Head of Flight Operations and Head of Training and Checking to provide leadership and oversight of all AbAs operations, reporting directly to the AbA Board.Role OverviewThis unique, senior role combines three critical responsibilities:General Manager Responsible for the day-to-day leadership, strategic direction, and financial performance of the organisation.Head of Flight Operations (HoFO) Accountable under CASA regulations for the safety, standardisation, and effectiveness of all flight operations.Head of Training and Checking (HOTC) Oversees all pilot training, checking, and compliance with CASA Part 135 and 119 regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral ManagerLead the organisation in alignment with strategic and commercial objectives set by the Board.Oversee finance, human resources, safety, compliance, and business development functions.Ensure continued growth in charter, tourism, and FIFO market segments.Maintain strong relationships with government, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.Head of Flight OperationsEnsure compliance with CASA Part 135 and 119 operations, including maintaining operational manuals and procedures.Oversee flight crew rostering, operational control, and aircraft availability.Ensure all flying operations meet the highest safety and performance standards.Act as the operational contact with CASA.Head of Training & CheckingManage and deliver the companys training and checking program for all flight crew.Ensure that all training is CASA-compliant and tailored to the operational context of the company.Supervise Check and Training Pilots and oversee pilot proficiency and progression.What We Are Looking ForAttributesStrong leadership presence and ability to inspire teams.Deep commitment to safety and regulatory excellence.Commercially astute with a track record of delivering sustainable growth.Comfortable with hands-on operational engagement and high-level strategic planning.Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.2500 Hours total flight time150 Hours PIC (including ICUS) under the IFR500 Hours PIC on PA31, C414 or type with similar performance100 Hours at night300 hours multi-engine instructional flight timeThe ability to gain CASA HoFO and HOTC approvalsHold a Flight Instructor ratingAptitude, skill, and enthusiasm to maintain high customer service and safety standardsInterested in contributing to all aspects of the businessSound knowledge of Human Factors and Non-Technical SkillsDesirable but not essentialB200 King Air, Cessna 400s series, or Beechcraft Baron experienceWhy Join UsAt Australia by Air, you will join a tight-knit team of aviation professionals passionate about quality, safety, and service.
