Here at Mid-Western Regional Council, we are looking for you: as the Council continues to grow and prosper at a steady rate, we offer exciting opportunities for a casual Parks & Gardens Attendant.What we are looking forWe are seeking four motivated people to maintain and preserve the Councils parks and gardens (including but not limited to parks, reserves, cemeteries, recreational facilities, and streetscapes) in accordance with Councils policies, plans, and weekly work programs.These roles are casual positions - 3 based in Mudgee (also utilized in Gulgong as needed) and 1 at Rylstone/Kandos.The salary range for the Parks and Gardens Attendant position is $35.43-$39.77 gross per hour (dependent on skills, qualifications, and experience) plus allowance and superannuation.This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of regional NSWs fastest-growing areas: Mudgee offers a great lifestyle with natural beauty, fine wines, and a strong local community. Just 3.5 hours from Sydney, the Mudgee Region is envied for its lifestyle benefits.Key AccountabilitiesAchieve the parks and gardens weekly works program in line with Councils expectations.Operate and undertake maintenance on plant, power tools, and equipment according to Councils schedules.Ensure automatic irrigation systems function correctly and undertake repairs as per manufacturer specifications.Maintain and repair street and town gardens according to Council policy, with basic knowledge of regional plants, shrubs, and trees.Complete maintenance and repair of burial activities within Councils cemeteries to industry standards.Prune a variety of trees and shrubs correctly.Possess basic knowledge of turf and grounds maintenance.Maintain basic literacy and numeracy skills.Be available for out-of-hours (on-call) duties.Keep work records accurately.Promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioral requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement.Undertake risk assessments and site inductions as required.To be successful in this role, you will haveCurrent Class C Drivers Licence.Basic communication skills (oral and written).Ability to perform physical labor tasks efficiently.Ability to work to targets within a team environment.SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card).Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and a commitment to relevant WHS training.Mid-Western Regional Council is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity.
