The Role Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate daily operations across a diverse irrigated cropping enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, excellent agronomy and mechanical knowledge, and practical experience in crop production systems. The successful applicant will be required to develop and implement crop plans, irrigation schedules, and agronomy programs in collaboration with the owners and agronomists. Proficiency in the use of Agworld and Safe Ag Systems is essential. Monitoring crop performance and health, and managing pests, diseases, and weeds using integrated management practices, are vital to the success of this multi-faceted business. In addition to supervising and managing farm staff, seasonal workers, and contractors, the Operations Manager will need to maintain and improve irrigation systems (centre pivots, hard hose, and solid set systems) to ensure optimal water use. The Employer This successful and innovative family-run farming enterprise is based in the Southern Riverina. It specializes in the production of certified seed potatoes, pasture and forage seed, irrigated cropping, and trades approximately 100 head of beef cattle annually. Future plans include expanding the vegetable cropping program. The 1500-acre farm currently has 600 acres under pivot irrigation, with further expansion planned. The enterprise combines innovation and sustainability to deliver high-quality agricultural products to domestic and international markets. Equipped with a modern and extensive fleet of machinery, the client plans to invest further in additional agricultural equipment for seamless and efficient operations. The Ideal Candidate We seek a driven individual with skills in seedstock and machinery operation, a mature approach to work and life, and a passion for agriculture.
