We are dedicated to providing support, safety, community, and opportunity during times of personal crisis and national grief.Position DetailsPosition Title: Assistant Store ManagerClassification: General Retail Award Level 4Department: Gympie Family StoreEmployment Status: Part-Time | 15 hours per week including 5 hours on SaturdayRole OverviewThe Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, including retail, recycling, and administrative tasks, aligned with The Salvation Armys mission and values. The role helps generate income to support community initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing daily store operations, including stock management, pricing, cleanliness, POS operation, scheduling, data entry, cash handling, and customer service.Open and close the store, reconcile cash registers.Prepare petty cash reports.Support donation intake and processing.Promote sale items and maintain store layout.Conduct stocktakes and manage inventory records.Supervise staff and volunteers to ensure a positive team environment.Qualifications and SkillsExperience in retail and customer service preferred.Experience in mentoring or training team members.Competence with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn digital platforms.Current and valid Drivers Licence preferred.First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.Physical fitness to meet manual handling demands.What We OfferAccess to Employee Assistance Program and wellness initiatives.Ongoing training and development.Purpose-driven career with social impact.Additional InformationWe are an equal opportunity employer, valuing diversity and inclusion.
