Find out moreabout us andour purpose .Our residential aged care facility caters to men and women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, or who have experienced financial or social disadvantage.We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance and compliance of our residential aged care facility. This pivotal role ensures our site is safe, operational, and well-maintained to support the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.Salary can be negotiated based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.Your key responsibilities will be to:Manage and coordinate all building maintenance, repairs, safety inspections and essential servicesOversee contractors and trades to ensure timely, cost-effective and quality service deliveryEnsure compliance with WHS legislation, building codes and aged care regulationsMaintain preventive maintenance schedules and accurate documentationRespond to urgent repairs, safety hazards and facility-related issuesConduct inspections, tagging and testing of equipment (fire safety, electrical items, nurse call bells, legionella, exit lighting, smoke/fire doors)Maintain chemical registers, SDS documentation and ensure correct chemical storage and handlingOversee bulk store operations including goods receipting, inventory management, stock rotation and storeroom cleanliness and security and maintain adequate suppliesSupervise the cleaning team ensuring high standards of cleanlinessProvide excellent customer service to residents and staff, maintaining a safe and welcoming environmentLiaise with external stakeholders including council, fire safety and regulatory bodiesRequirements for SuccessMinimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance person in the aged care or community spacePractical knowledge of building services and operationsStrong understanding of WHS, SafeWork NSW and compliance requirementsDemonstrated experience supervising contractors and cleaning/maintenance staffHighly organised with strong problem-solving skills and a can do attitudeDemonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office SuitesDrivers Licence with no restrictionsCovid Booster and flu vaccine mandatoryNDIS clearanceBefore starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, referee checks, NDIS clearance numberRewarding work every day you know youre making a real differenceNot-for-profitsalary packaging, reducingyour tax (details viaAccessPay)Extra leave available including an additional public holiday, additional annual leave day on your work anniversary and the opportunity to purchase further annual leaveOur cultureOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritize the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
