Manjimup Home and Community Care is currently seeking applications from individuals interested in or working in the Aged and Disability Sector. Join our friendly team to support individuals in maintaining their independence within a community setting.The role responsibilities include:Activities related to domestic assistance, such as cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, and other household areas (which constitutes a significant part of the duties).Activities related to personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and minor maintenance tasks.Assisting individuals to regain or retain skills in everyday activities to their maximum potential.Transporting individuals to local and out-of-town medical appointments.Engaging in activities of interest in the home and local community, including active companionship, socialisation, and assistance accessing relevant agencies or services related to aged/disability care.Providing respite support in consumers homes.Providing regular reports to the line manager and maintaining active communication regarding changes to individuals conditions, circumstances, and service delivery.Ensuring that individual records are legible, complete, and systematically filed, while maintaining confidentiality at all times.Opportunities for respite support shifts at the Manjimup Wellness and Respite Community Centre, which may include overnight respite.Selection CriteriaThe ideal applicant will possess:A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Community Services), or a commitment to working towards this qualification and relevant training.Effective verbal and written communication skills.The ability to work with and assist individuals from diverse social, financial, and cultural backgrounds.Good prioritisation and time management skills.Physical fitness to endure prolonged standing and walking, and the ability to push a wheelchair.A roadworthy, fully insured vehicle suitable for transporting individuals with limited or restricted mobility and assistive equipment.A C Class drivers licence with PTD authorization (desirable).Previous experience in a community care environment supporting older people or individuals with disabilities (desirable).First Aid certification (desirable).Note: MHCC employees must be COVID-19 vaccinated (minimum 3 doses) as per the Management Policy on COVID-19 for Manjimup Home and Community Care (MHCC) Aged and Disability Services.Visit www.manjimup.wa.gov.au for detailed information about the position, including the job description and application process.
