It is focused on empowering people by providing compassion, guidance, encouragement, motivation and follow-up. Peer Workers will support individuals to develop skills, confidence, and knowledge to improve their wellbeing and community connections. They will encourage them to engage actively with their care team, including their Support Coordinator, to maximise the benefit they can receive from these services. And at other times they will sit and listen to their concerns, joys and experiences, knowing that being heard, and having someone to share recovery with is therapeutic.To be successful in this role, you will need:Lived experience of suicidal ideation or attempt, suicide bereavement or had a close connection to someone who has died by suicideAbility to utilise your Lived Experience in a trauma informed, safe and purposeful mannerEffective communication skills with people from a variety of backgrounds, including people from CALD backgroundsHighly developed verbal and written skills, including the ability to write case notes and contribute to evaluation reports and documentsExperience in working with children/young people is highly regardedAbility to build strong community networks utilising grass root approachesRight to work within AustraliaCurrent valid Drivers Licence and the ability to undertake some travelNDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (free online course)Satisfactory National Police Records CheckNDIS Worker Screening CheckWorking with Children''s Check (Employee/Paid)What We OfferPurpose-Driven Culture: Immerse yourself in a culture where passion meets purpose.
