It requires a clear strategic vision, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to service excellence, integration of community focused engagement, continuous improvement and innovation.You will lead a large and diverse team, ensuring consistent service offering and delivery across all libraries, fostering collaboration with other customer focused teams, and championing the value of libraries within both the organisation and the wider community.As part of a broader integrated service model that includes Arts and Culture and Customer Experience, youll also be instrumental in evolving our multi-service community spaces to better meet the needs of our growing and diverse population.In This Role, You WillProvide strategic leadership across multiple library branches and co-located community sites, cultivating high-performing, collaborative teams.Drive innovation and continuous improvement across library services, with a focus on digital transformation and community engagement.Oversee the development and delivery of inclusive, accessible programs and services tailored to community needs.Build strong relationships with local government stakeholders, external organisations, and residents to enhance and promote library services.Lead the recruitment, development, and performance of staff with a specific focus on increasing leadership capability, strategic operational excellence and career pathways.Manage budgets and resources effectively, focused on providing all services within the provided budget and constantly identifying opportunities for increased efficiencies and effectiveness.Play a key role in advancing the integration of Libraries with the Arts and Culture and Customer Experience portfolios.For more information including position responsibilities, please view the position brief by clicking the paperclip icon in the top right corner of this screen.??What you''ll bringA strategic mindset and a proven ability to lead large, diverse teams across complex, multi-site operations.Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the capacity to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Demonstrated success in driving innovation and leading transformational change in community-focused settings.A strong commitment to service excellence, coupled with a genuine passion for delivering meaningful and measurable outcomes for communities.Tertiary qualifications in Library Science, Information Science, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience in service operations.A clear understanding of how libraries contribute to community engagement, lifelong learning, and equitable access to information.Extensive senior leadership experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams, with a proven ability to align strategic vision with operational execution in a high-performing service environment.Be part of shaping the Gold Coast''s futureThe Gold Coast is inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity.
