This is a pivotal role overseeing business development, project management, and operational delivery for a portfolio of high-profile major events, conferences, and international sports tournaments across Australia.As a key leader, you will drive commercial growth, elevate operational excellence, and strengthen strategic partnerships. Your focus will be on scaling our national event footprint, optimizing resource planning, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver seamless end-to-end event execution.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development (30%)Build strategic business development opportunities through sales and marketing campaignsLead the companys bid preparation and submissions, sourcing other SME resources where relevantRepresent the company at industry events, conferences and association functionsMaintain a CRM system and sales pipeline though use of cloud-based softwareReview and monitor public tender opportunities through various online portalsDevelop supporting materials such as case studies, referrals, capability statements and industry related articles of interestsProvide reports to management on potential and confirmed opportunitiesProject Management/ Operational Delivery (70%)Develop, coordinate and implement end-to-end ground transport operations at events that may include operating plans, traffic management plans, risk management, communication plans, contingency plans and other supporting documentation that meets all compliance requirementsManage and ensure all Workplace, Health & Safety polices are implemented and adhered toEnsure at all times any NHVL compliance requirements such as Chain of Responsibility (COR) is adhered to and implemented throughout the planning and delivery of servicesBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, staff and contractorsEngage preferred suppliers and sub-contractors to support the delivery of the servicesAccurate fortnightly reporting of progress, risks and issues and opportunitiesCommercial management of projects (i.e. budgets, P&L statements and reconciliations)Work with the Accounts department to ensure all revenue and suppliers are paid in a timely mannerTravel within Australia and the South-East Asia region to conduct meetings, site visits and deliver the eventSkills And KnowledgeExcellent knowledge of the passenger transport industry in one or more of the following areas (Bus, Coach, Chauffeur, Taxi, Rail, Fleet, etc.)Executive level understanding of transport specific software such as scheduling and dispatch systems, vehicle tracking and passenger count softwareStrong leader who embraces a positive and engaging team culture, a relationship builderAbility to juggle conflicting priorities and deliverables while supporting the team with their assignments and workloadExcellent client management who ensures their priorities are deliveredEmpathetic to culturally diverse audiencesAttend meetings (remotely and onsite) representing TMS AUS with suppliers, clients and stakeholdersRepresent TMS individually and through your team in a professional manner at all times whether in person or onlineAbility to work independently and remotely, more than often onlineRespond to and send communications via email, phone, online meetings in a timely mannerMaintain a record of all your hours of work and tasks performed by completing documentation to assign relevant hours to a specific projectMaintain all documentation in company files and folders online and in shared foldersFlexibility in working hours no two days are the same. Be willing to work flexible and extended hours throughout the event periodWilling to travel interstate and overseas (occasionally) therefore have a valid passportHave a current and full car driving licenseQualifications And ExperienceUniversity degree or equivalent professional experienceProficient in English (written and oral)Must have the right to work within Australia (prior to applying for the role)Preferably 8-10 years of progressive responsibilities and work-related experience, and any combination of education and training, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, combined with demonstrated professional growth and achievementPrevious involvement in complex event operations, preferably at FIFA World Cup or Olympics scale or equivalentExperience of working in International and Australia major events, preferably within a transport, venue or logistics capacityAdvanced skills in writing proposals, operational plans and post event reportingExcellent skills in project based financial budgets and reconciliationsStrong business and commercial acumen and transport languageAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 softwareExperience of Project Management and CRM softwareExperience of presenting proposals to prospective clients (in person and/or remotely)The employees responsibilities reflect current needs and requirements of the Company as at the date of issuing this position description.
