This role will be based in Sydney with a hybrid working arrangement. #LI-HybridThe OpportunityThe General Counsel leads a small team of lawyers to advise on a range of corporate and commercial law arrangements, including technology contracts, construction projects and sales opportunities to support our four business units.The General Counsel also works closely with the CEO and CFO on general company initiatives such as strategy, structure, funding, the structure of short- and long-term incentives and stakeholder management functions.What you''ll be doingManage all litigation for the company, including managing the Corporate Counsel Disputes whose practice consists primarily of commercial dispute resolution and pre-litigation adviceAct as a Company Secretary on matters of legal and corporate governance natureManage Macquarie Technology Group''s insurance portfolioManage Macquarie Technology Group''s leasing arrangements from a legal perspectiveProvide support to the People & Culture team on IR / ER issues as requiredNegotiate major deals in conjunction with Sales or Line of Business personnelAssist relevant commercial personnel with the preparation of responses to customer tenders, with particular emphasis on reviewing and preparing legal response to any proposed terms and conditions (including Federal Government tenders)Train Sales and Account Management personnel on legal risks such as Australian Consumer Law and PrivacyManage the Commercial Counsel whose practice consists primarily of negotiating any variations to our customer standard trading termsLead and manage the legal team through regular 1:1s, coaching and performance development conversationsIdeal skills & experienceQualified lawyer admitted to practice in NSW (circa 10 years PQE)Experience as either a General Counsel looking to broaden their experience, Senior in-house Lawyer in a fast-paced environment, or a commercially focused Senior Associate from a highly regarded law firmExperience in an in-house ICT or sales-focused environment is highly desirableAbility to take ownership of multiple responsibilities including Company Secretary dutiesWhy us?We''re a Great Place to Work Certified in 2024.We''re Australia''s #2 Great Place to Work in 2023.We have the highest Net Promoter Score on the ASX, theWorld''s best customer experience&crowned in 2020 at the World Communications Awards.Youll make an impact: Enjoy being part of a driven team with a collaborative culture that values decision-makers and action.We Invest in you: Accelerate your career through our learning and development opportunities - think Gallup strengths-based training, defined career pathways and fantastic internal mobility opportunities across the group.If this excites you, apply now, we''d love to hear from you! #J-18808-Ljbffr
