Vacation Student Metallurgist at Evolution Minings Cowal site: hands-on metallurgical experience, real project ownership, and fast-tracked graduate opportunities.Your RoleKey responsibilities include:Assisting with sampling and assaying of ore, concentrate, and tailings.Monitoring plant performance and reporting on recovery and throughput trends.Supporting metallurgical test work including flotation, leaching, and gravity separation.Participating in daily production meetings and safety briefings.Conducting data analysis for optimising reagent use and process efficiency.Performing lab testwork for analysing data and generating reports.Assisting in monitoring, troubleshooting, and conducting plant sampling or surveys.Collaborating with operators and engineers for collecting data and improving processes.Receiving supervision from a metallurgist, with assignments aligned to learning goals and technical interests.About YouThe ideal candidate will possess the following:Currently enrolled in a degree such as Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or similar.Experience with relevant software and systems through studies or placements (preferred).Strong problem-solving skills.Effective communication skills across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.Ability to uphold high work standards and build strong relationships with peers and leaders.Capacity to work independently to meet personal and team goals.Valid manual drivers licence.Willingness to live and work remotely.Compensation & BenefitsComprehensive range of benefits to support transition and enhance experience.Flights or reimbursement of travel expenses at the beginning and end of the program.Residential housing provided and subsidized.Transport to site arranged.All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.12-week residential program (December to February) with a roster of 5 days on/2 days off and 4 days on/3 days off.Fast-tracked entry into the graduate program for successful candidates.Training & DevelopmentHands-on experience through on-the-job learning.Ownership of real projects with meaningful impact.Mentorship from experienced technical leaders.Participation in operational and personal development training.Career ProgressionCandidates who successfully complete the vacation program will be fast-tracked into the Evolution Mining graduate program.Exposure to diverse operational experiences and career opportunities within the company.How to ApplySubmit your application as instructed in the job posting, ensuring all required documents and information are provided.This job may close before the stated closing date, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possibleReport this job #J-18808-Ljbffr
