Location: Algester, QLD, 4115 Position: Full-Time Painter Main Duties and Responsibilities The duties assigned to the Painter will be performed with efficiency and precision. These responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Preparing walls and surfaces for painting by washing them down, scraping, filling holes and cracks, and removing old paint. Installation, repair and maintenance of all sorts of internal surfaces, walls and ceilings. Be proficient in various methods of painting application, such as brush, roll, spray, etc. Painting to the highest standard of workmanship - surface preparation skills, as well as mixing and matching. Washing, scraping, sanding and/or smoothing interior and exterior surfaces before painting, varnishing or applying other related materials. Removing fixtures such as doorknobs and light switch covers. Apply varnish and other finishes. Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials and other hazardous materials. Assembling ladders properly to manage the risk of falls and increase safety. Preparing the surrounding area by covering it with cloth or plastic to prevent messes. Erect and use apparatus (ladders and planks) to work safely at various heights. Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture. Maintaining the cleanliness of the site and painting tools after completion of the task. Personal & Professional Attributes A minimum Certificate III level qualification is required. The candidate must have at least 1 year experience. Good Communication Skills. Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
